Tucker 2015 is a true grassroots effort founded by Tucker neighbors who believe in moving the community forward toward even greater success by pursuing a City of Tucker. There is overwhelming support within the community to incorporate because of Tucker’s 122-year history, its active and tight-knit community, and the widely-held perception that it is already a city because of its successful civic and business organizations.
Tucker 2015 is the next chapter in pursuing the City of Tucker, and is built on the hard work and dedication of volunteers who led Tucker 2014. Over the past year many gave their time to raise the required $30,000 to conduct a Feasibility Study, to host community meetings, to lead special events and fundraisers, and to fight to preserve Tucker during the 2014 State Legislative Session.
The Tucker 2015 Volunteer Council is made up of citizens from across the entire Tucker community representing a variety of neighborhoods, talents, and perspectives. The common link is a passion for the special place we all call home. There is something unique about Tucker – you can see it on Main Street when we gather for fun family events, you can hear it in the laughter of children playing in our local parks, and you can feel it as neighbors warmly connect across close-knit neighborhoods. Tucker is more than a name – it’s a community. Tucker 2015 is committed to preserving what is special about Tucker today, while ensuring stability and success well into the future.
