All commissioned work begins with a written estimate. A 50% deposit is required to schedule a project and reserve lumber. The remaining 50% is due at delivery.
Deposits become non-refundable once milling has begun, because the lumber has been committed to your project.
Build timelines provided in estimates are good-faith targets. Hand-built work is subject to wood-movement and weather considerations and may vary by a week or two.
Every piece we build is guaranteed against structural defects in workmanship for the life of the original owner. If a joint fails or a fastener pulls because of how we built the piece, we will repair it free of charge.
The warranty does not cover normal wear, damage from misuse, exposure to extreme moisture or heat, or modifications made after delivery.
For deliveries we make personally within 150 miles of Weaverville, risk of loss passes to the customer upon placement and acceptance. For freight deliveries beyond that radius, risk passes when the piece is signed for at destination.
Estimates are valid for thirty days. Prices may change after that window because lumber prices fluctuate seasonally. We will always confirm pricing in writing before scheduling work.
All photographs, sketches, and written content on this site are the property of Tucker Ridge Heritage Co. or are used under license. Designs we develop for a commission are our intellectual property; you receive the physical piece, not a license to reproduce the design.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability under any commission is limited to the amount paid for that commission. We are not liable for incidental or consequential damages.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Buncombe County, North Carolina.
